Spring Ledge Farm in New London New Hampshire, used to be my local farmstand when I lived there. I heard through the grapevine (their newsletter) that they might be chosen as the setting for a Hallmark Christmas movie. If you take a look at the photos, you’ll see why! I cannot vouch for the reliability of the information – though I can testify that their Christmas trees are always fresh and beautiful – but they’re preparing to pitch Hallmark with some seasonal ideas. If you’re struggling with the plot of a holiday romance, here are their suggestions to get you going… Let me know what you think!
“Christmas Tree Espresso”
When the new espresso machine instructions are only in Italian, can visiting professor and single dad Bruno Merrimack, help the local barista, Jenna Sullivan, learn how to make a cortado with a cute Christmas tree foamy thing on top before the solstice?
“Wood Stoves and Warm Hearts”

“Christmas on Main Street – 37 Jingles”
The fir needles fly when Annaliesse meets up with Bif, the local handyman, his adopted son Carl, and the grumpy after-school gym teacher to save the Christmas tree in the town gazebo. She realizes that they need each other more than they remembered, which is odd because they just met.
“A Checkerboard Floor Christmas”
In a bid to win the office Christmas contest, J.D. spends the weekend painting the floor with the help of some co-workers. As the paint fumes result in amnesia, he forgets the real meaning of Christmas. When the local librarian finds some old high school yearbooks, will it be enough to jog J.D.’s memory before December 25th?
“The Planta Clause”
A high-flying account executive from the big city discovers a hidden clue in a display across from the wood stove at a local farmstand. But will she solve it in time to root the last amaryllis?
“Rekindle the Wreaths”
Oliver is a firefighter who meets an unlikely ally as the community prepares for the annual bonfire. Also, he’s single.
“Misery in the Dark – A Buffalo Plaid Mystery”
Someone is leaving Christmas bows around town in all the wrong places. Will Sgt. Bodenrader be able to solve the mystery with the help of a new-to-town bowmaker and his family of beagles before the big pickleball tournament?
“I’ll Make Space – The Tale of Too Many Houseplants”
When their marriage hits a rough spot, a surprise guest takes Vin and Josie back in time so they can build enough shelves to fit all their houseplants, including this season’s poinsettias, paperwhites and another couple of ferns. When Vin and Josie find themselves back in the farmstand greenhouse, true love is rekindled.
“Spring Ledge Santa – A Royal Switcheroo”
When the resident “Santa” has to go out of town to judge an orchid contest, high school sweethearts Lucy and Desi reunite to run the tree lighting. Everything looks bright until an identical twin emerges from the farm tree lot, and there’s going to be a lot of ‘splainin’ to do!
“The Solar Powered Twinkle Lights”
The town’s annual holiday festival is just a few weeks away and local electrician Duncan finds help stringing the lights thanks to Tosh, a visiting ice-dancing choreographer. As the big day nears, will the sun shine on the farm with enough intensity to power all those little string lights, and perhaps with enough power to light up their budding romance?
“Coming Home from Orford – In the Nick of Time”
No cell service and slick roads; will the real Christmas trees make it back in time for the big holiday sale before those grey vans swoop in with the fake conifers? Life is turned upside down when an unexpected guest just happens to show up with four matching studded snow tires.
“Time for him to Hibernate for Christmas”
When the local farmer has eaten enough carrots for the year, he turns to Christmas cookies. But with the farm crew holiday party postponed, can he stuff enough calories into his face to make it through to spring?
